Pattern

As one may already notice, this is my tile pattern. I chose to add the screw area of the "Zico Coconut Water" bottle to be as my volume, the inside of the bottle to be as my plain and the line to be two pieces of paper that I made links with. If one looks more closely inside, one can see a eye, I did this because I wanted my project to be very "extraterrestrial". Not only that but I also wanted to cover the hollowness that is created inside.

Here is this tile when it is repeated:

Body Part Project

Sketches
I decided to make a character for this project. Because our school thinks very crucially about the environment, I decided to make a icon for Parsons. I wanted to make a women who represents mother nature, and the armour that is on the upper right half side of her body shows the protection for our environment. The black "squares" are pyramids, and I wanted to do that to show the protection and have more armour like look to it. Additionally, because I wanted to make a armour I decided to use metal sheets for the base and the pyramid of the armor and then cover the pyramid with black construction paper. I'm not sure if this will work out but I wish it does!

Product

This is my final product. I know it is far different from my original sketch but I like this product better than the other. This is because, I was able to transform my project into something that I can accomplish in a 2 week period, whereas if I were going to make my original one it would have token me an extra week.

Egg drop

I made a container for the egg out of straws, rubber bands, wires, foam core, and shoulder pad cushion. I was successful and my form did not brake. However from the critiques, I learned that I should pay more attention to the connections next time.

My hand project

I decided for my hand project to make a clutch. However as I worked throughout my project I found out few problems and thus I was not able to successfully complete my work. However, one outcome that I got from this project is that I was able to learn something and that is to if the design is too complicating I need to find a way to make the design work but more in a simpler way.

Nature Hand

Nature Hands

1.) Octopus Tentacles
The octopus uses suction as hands to catch their prey and hold things.

 2.) Dog Paws
Because mostly dogs walk on four feet and they do not have protection on their feet, they have small cushions to help them walk easily.

3.) Eagle Claws
I thought claws on almsot every type of birds represented most closely to human hands. They use these claws to get a good hold of their prey or to hold on to things and not slip. Birds needs this function because it mostly lives on in trees and it is not a flat surface so unless they get a good hold of the branches they will slip.

4.) Horse hands

Like the dog paws, horses also have a support system
on their feet.

 5.) Sea cucumber mouth
Like the tentacles on the octopus, sea cucumbers also use suction. Even  though this image is a picture of a mouth, sea cucumbers also utilises it to hold on to rocks so they do not just float in the ocean.

6.) Mosquito legs
Unlike the animals above mosquitos has long legs and hands so they can easily put their mouth needle inside a flesh.

 7.) Gecko hands
Gecko hands has the most grip because they mostly live on walls or on trees.

 8.) Lizard hands
Unlike the gecko, lizards have claws. This is because their habitat is different to geckos and it mostly live underground.

9.) Bat wings
Even though bats do not have hands, and they have wings, they utilises their wings as a hand also.It uses to hold on to trees and climb up some too.

 10.)Elephant trunk
Unlike many other animals elephants use their long trunks to just hold things and get their food easily to their mouth.

Man made hands

'Man Made Hands
1.) Tape
I thought that tape was man made hands because we use tape to stick things to other things and I thought that the grip in our hands also does has the same function.

 2.) Cranes
As one may notice I also thought that cranes were man made hands. This is because crane helps to lift heavy objects to a another place and our hands also lifts up objects.

 3.) Fish Hooks
Fish hooks can be seen as a man made hand because fish hooks are used to catch fish and not let the it go easily. This function is also present in our fingers. Thus I thought that there was a relationship between the hook and the finger of the hand.

 4.) Thumbnails
I thought that thumbnails also represented hands because we use the tip of our fingers to hold or keep things together.

5.) Whisk
I also thought that whisk also presented man made hands. This is because we also use our hands to mix foods together.

6.) Bottle Opener
I thought that bottle opener showed hands because whenever we open anything, we use our thumb and the index finger; this bottle opener kind of showed those two hands so I thought there was some relation to the hand and the bottle opener.

 7.) Belt (Buckle)
I thought the belt as a arm and a hand. This is because the leather side of the belt holds or "hugs" the jean and to secure it the buckle is used. This is also shown when we see someone hugging something, our arms goes around the object to hold or to hug and we use our hands to secure our arms hugging the object.

 8.) Inside of the umbrella
I imagined inside of the umbrella as a hand opening from a rock position to a paper position. Thus I thought that inside of the umbrella and the hand had a relationship.

 9.) Book stoppers
Book stoppers can also be a mechanically made hand. This is because as shown in the image when we stop things we use the paper position and normally when we stop books it is flat and tall. Thus I thought that there was a relationship to both of them.

 10.) Pilers
I thought of pilers as the nails and the fingers. This is because pilers helps us to bend wires or any other metal objects very throughly and we also use our fingers and nails to fold things.
